HSE University invites students from partner universities for one or two semesters
Each of the four HSE campuses is made up of faculties, which manage degree programmes
On November 7, a representative office of HSE University opened in Indonesia. It is a new hub for students from the Asia-Pacific who are planning to study in Russia, as well as for Russian universities looking to establish ties with Indonesia. The representative office is based at Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology in the city of Surabaya. 
A team from HSE University’s Faculty of Computer Science took first place in a Rosneft hackathon held in October among the country’s universities. The hackathon was organised by the research institute RN-BashNIPIneft LLC. The competition participants had the chance to try their hand at solving real production problems.

During a visit of the HSE delegation led by campus Director Anna Tyshetskaya to the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore), the two universities agreed to create a mirror laboratory in the sphere of environmental behaviour, social well-being, and responsibility management.
An international collaboration including researchers from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science has proposed a new approach to designing detectors used for experiments in elementary particle physics. The approach, which involves differentiable programming and deep neural networks, will optimise the instruments’ performance and enhance the value of the experimental results.
Alfa-Bank has opened the IT space, a coworking area for project and business communication among students, at the HSE Graduate School of Business. Visitors to Alfa Space can enjoy its trendy cafe, discuss fintech with experts from Alfa-Bank, prepare for seminars, and brainstorm.
HSE University is this year’s leading Russian university in 11 subjects in the Shanghai Ranking. In seven of these, the university is the only Russian higher education institution to appear. This year, the university was ranked among the top universities for Communications for the first time and returned to the ranking for Sociology.
For HSE Preparatory Year students, the Russian Speaking Club is a way to improve their language proficiency in a relaxed atmosphere. At this year’s first such event, they discussed online communications and social media. Michael Dzodzoe from Ghana and Leen Sabbagh from Syria shared their impressions with the HSE News Service.
Just a month after graduating from the International Bachelor’s Programme in Economics and Finance, 93% of graduates received job offers or decided to continue their studies in master’s and PhD programmes. Viktoria Pralich, Head of the ICEF Career Centre, talks about the employment and continued education of this year’s alumni.
I appreciate the opportunity to study at HSE, as it is one of the most prestigious universities in Russia. HSE University has the best environment to help me grow academically. Education is serious here and requires a lot from students to pass subjects, which in turn motivates me to study harder.

HSE University has become not only a university for me, but also a home, a special place where I met my wife and countless good friends from all over the world.
Life in the dormitory at HSE has been an extensive and immersive experience, allowing me to embrace cultural diversity on a whole new level. Sharing meals, celebrating festivals, and engaging in cultural exchanges made every day a memorable experience, and it felt like a global community within the dormitory walls.
Studying and living in Russia is amazing. I am sure that HSE is going to provide unique opportunities and crucial knowledge for my career. I feel the possibility to build my future with my hands and on my own.
I chose the Population and Development programme due to the various perspectives and methods that are taught throughout the course, and that was indeed the most exciting part about it. Even though the programme was challenging, the professors' assistance and guidance has been extremely valuable.
As an aspiring economist and statistician, I wanted to broaden my horizons and gain a global perspective in the field of economics. HSE’s reputation for excellence in economics made it the perfect choice for me.
